The word “Avadhuta” refers to one who has renounced all worldly attachments and connections and lives in a state beyond body consciousness. The Avadhuta did not learn from one particular source, but from many teachers or gurus, such as the water, earth, wind, space, moon, sun, sea, and arrow maker.\nIn this text, Dattatreya makes startling statements, leaving the seeker of Truth to imbibe them and be uplifted from illusion into the blazing light of knowledge.  It is regarded by all sages as one of the greatest treatise on Vedanta representing Advaita or non-dualism.\nAbout Swami Ramamkrishnananda\nSwami Ramakrishnananda is the resident Swami at Chinmaya Mission, Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu.  He is a brilliant orator with a unique and jovial way of teaching. Popular among the young and the old alike, he is passionate about Sanskrit and conducts various courses and workshops all over the world. He has authored many Chinmaya International publications including Easy Sanskrit home study course.\nAbout Guru Dakshina\nGuru Dakshina is a very ancient concept belonging to the Indian origin. It is the tradition to offer, with reverence, something of value, to one’s ‘Guru’ or ‘Teacher’ or towards his/her cause in recognition of the invaluable knowledge imparted to the student. Spiritual knowledge offered by the Chinmaya Mission will always remain free. However, if you would like to offer Guru Dakshina, please send your donation via Interac e-transfer to treasurer@chinmayavancouver.org ( mailto:treasurer@chinmayavancouver.org ) and include “Swami Ramakrishnananda GD” in the note.
