SUMMARY:Panchadasi Ch. 5: Mahavakya Vivek – A Yajna with Swami Ishwarananda
DESCRIPTION:Chinmaya Mission Vancouver is pleased to announce an IN-PERSON lecture series conducted by Swami Ishwarananda from CM Los Angeles.\nJoin us at the CMV Ashram (located in South Vancouver) at 6:30 AM and discover the topic of Panchadasi Ch. 5: Mahavakya Vivek with Swamiji. Please note, that evening lectures on the topic of the Hanumat Stuti ( https://chinmayavancouver.org/events/hanumat-stuti-a-yajna-with-swami-ishwarananda/ ) will be taking place in Burnaby as well.\nPlease RSVP using the form below!\nAbout Swami Ishwarananda\nSwami Ishwarananda is the resident Swami at Chinmaya Mission Los Angeles (CMLA). An accomplished master of Vedanta philosophy, Swamiji explains the universality of spiritual teachings in a simplified manner for audiences to grasp and for seekers to implement teachings in day-to-day living. Several companies, universities, and inter-faith consortiums routinely reach out to Swamiji for delivering talks to their employees, students, and congregations. Swamiji is presently one of the Directors of Chinmaya Mission West (CMW) which oversees the activities in North America. Previously, Swamiji was part of Chinmaya Mission Bangalore where he served as the secretary.\nSwamiji has conducted yajnas in Vancouver many times before, and you can view his previous virtual lecture series on Chapter 14 of the Bhagavad Gita here and his lecture series on Subodha Vedanta ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjtCieGzFJYCxekjOBz3roxW2U-fo0gAe ).\nAbout Panchadasi Chapter 5: Mahavakya Vivek\nPanchadashi consists of 15 chapters. The first five chapters are focused on Viveka – the method of differentiation to establish Sat aspect of Brahman. The following 5 chapters are about Cit – the Consciousness, and the last five chapters are on Ananda – the bliss of Brahman.\nUpanishads declare the Oneness of truth, proclaiming that nothing other than Brahman truly exists. The four Mahavakyas from the four Vedas are the subject matter of the 5th chapter of Panchadashi which Swamiji will elaborate on in the morning lectures.\nAbout Guru Dakshina\nGuru Dakshina is a very ancient concept belonging to the Indian origin. It is the tradition to offer, with reverence, something of value, to one’s ‘Guru’ or ‘Teacher’ or towards his/her cause in recognition of the invaluable knowledge imparted to the student. Spiritual knowledge offered by the Chinmaya Mission will always remain free. However, if you would like to offer Guru Dakshina, please send your donation via Interac e-transfer to treasurer@chinmayavancouver.org and include “Swami Ishwarananda GD” in the note. To learn more about donating to Chinmaya Mission Vancouver, visit our Donation page.\n \n
