SUMMARY:Gita Panchamrit Jnana Yajna – Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav
DESCRIPTION:How do we navigate the journey from self-effort to total surrender? Join us for a special Jnana Yajna with Swami Ishwarananda (CM Los Angeles) as we explore the Gita Panchamrit.\nThe Bhagavad Gita is a vast ocean of 700 verses, but its essence can be tasted in just a few drops. As part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, we invite you to Gita Panchamrit, a special lecture series by Swami Ishwarananda (CM Los Angeles). We will explore five carefully chosen shlokas drawn from different chapters of the Gita. While distinct, these verses weave together to paint a profound picture of the duties of a seeker and what he will gain as a result of pursuing this spiritual path. Whether you are new to Vedanta or a long-time student, this series offers a simple, consistent practice to absorb the Gita’s light.\nIn an age where information overwhelms but inner strength seems scarce, these five verses become an anchor. They reconnect us with clarity and purpose, inviting us to learn, chant, reflect and live the Gita, not as philosophy tucked away in books, but as a daily source of strength and guidance.\nLocation: Burnaby Hindu Temple – 5420 Marine Dr, Burnaby, BC\nThis event is free to attend and does not require any reservation.\nThis event is part of a series of events for the Amrit Mahotsav. Swamiji will also be guiding a Hanuman Pooja on Sunday, April 19th. For more information, visit our event page for more details ( https://chinmayavancouver.org/events/hanuman-pooja-chinmaya-amrit-mahotsav/ ).\nSponsorships\nSponsorships are available and the sponsorship amount is $300. Please email info@chinmayavancouver.org ( mailto:info@chinmayavancouver.org ) for more information or contact Jaya (604-325-9390) or Sharada (778-522-6851).\nAbout Swami Ishwarananda\nSwami Ishwarananda is the resident Swami at Chinmaya Mission Los Angeles (CMLA). An accomplished master of Vedanta philosophy, Swamiji explains the universality of spiritual teachings in a simplified manner for audiences to grasp and for seekers to implement teachings in day-to-day living. Several companies, universities, and inter-faith consortiums routinely reach out to Swamiji for delivering talks to their employees, students, and congregations. Swamiji is presently one of the Directors of Chinmaya Mission West (CMW) which oversees the activities in North America. Previously, Swamiji was part of Chinmaya Mission Bangalore where he served as the secretary.\nSwamiji has conducted yajnas in Vancouver many times before, and you can view his previous virtual lecture series on Chapter 14 of the Bhagavad Gita here, ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX2EGHwxDuY&list=PLjtCieGzFJYDYhwhLQ1a-YnxQ9pSLsoJT ) his lecture series on Subodha Vedanta ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjtCieGzFJYCxekjOBz3roxW2U-fo0gAe ), and his lectures series on the Hanumat Stuti ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcGh9Uiy1Gw&list=PLjtCieGzFJYBnTd_dUsn80Ib1sm8CCy-G ).\nAbout Guru Dakshina\nGuru Dakshina is a very ancient concept belonging to the Indian origin. It is the tradition to offer, with reverence, something of value, to one’s ‘Guru’ or ‘Teacher’ or towards his/her cause in recognition of the invaluable knowledge imparted to the student. Spiritual knowledge offered by the Chinmaya Mission will always remain free. However, if you would like to offer Guru Dakshina, please send your donation via Interac e-transfer to treasurer@chinmayavancouver.org ( mailto:treasurer@chinmayavancouver.org ) and include “Swami Ishwarananda GD” in the note. To learn more about donating to Chinmaya Mission Vancouver, visit our Donation ( https://chinmayavancouver.org/donation/ ) page.\nAbout the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav\nChinmaya Amrit Mahotsav is a global celebration marking 75 years of the timeless legacy of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. It is a collective expression of gratitude, joy, and renewed purpose, honoring Gurudev’s life and teachings through spiritual offerings, cultural programs, and community-led initiatives across the world. Through this festival of consciousness, Chinmaya devotees everywhere rejoice in 75 years of knowledge, service, and inspiration that continue to uplift and unite seekers of all ages.
