Sampoorna Gita Saptah – A Jnana Yajna
Join us for an inspiring week with Swami Shantanandaji as he presents Sampoorna Gita Saptah: The Complete Gita in One Week. This transformative series will explore the key verses of the Bhagavad Gita, offering a profound understanding of Lord Krishna’s teachings. The event will feature evening lectures and a special morning Krishna Pooja led by Swamiji at the CMV Ashram.

Evening Lecture

In the evening lectures, Swamiji will cover a selection of verses from the Bhagavad Gita, explaining their meaning and how the lessons that Sri Krishna gives to Arjuna can be implemented in our daily lives. Attending the lecture series will give any spiritual seeker an enlightening overview and summary of the essence of the Bhagavad Gita. In addition to the lectures, we will also conduct a Gita Arati at the end in celebration of the knowledge and wisdom offered in this sacred text.
Morning Pooja

Swamiji will guide yajamans through a Krishna pooja and pooja to Gurudev. An auspicious way to start the morning! Attendees can come to the ashram to watch the pooja or perform the pooja under Swamiji’s guidance. If you wish to be a yajaman, please reach out using the contact information below to become a sponsor. Sponsorships for the morning pooja are $50.

About Swami Shantananda
Swami Shantanandaji is well known for his unparalleled devotion to Lord Krishna and for his absolute devotion to his Guru, Swami Chinmayanandaji. Due to this unique qualification that Swamiji possesses, many devotees come to him from diverse backgrounds, cultures and geographies, and discover Self-knowledge through the study of major Upanishads, Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Ramacharit Manas, and Narayaneeyam (to name a few).
Swamiji served his Guru as a traveling secretary for two years and became sannyasin in 1992. True to his devotion to his Guru, Swamiji himself traveled extensively, taught near and far, and has devotees in every part of the world. As every devotee that has interacted with Swamiji knows, he is a member of everyone’s family, and everyone is a member of his Chinmaya family. Swamiji is an authority on the scriptures, yet remains unassuming and easily approachable as he connects with people across generations, languages, and faiths.
Swamiji was instrumental in building the Chinmaya Mission center in Hong Kong and many centers in the USA. He is the current resident Swamiji at the Chinmaya Mission Tri-State Center. He is also also the president of Chinmaya Mission West and oversees the activities of over 60 Mission centers in the USA and Canada.
About Guru Dakshina
Guru Dakshina is a very ancient concept belonging to the Indian origin. It is the tradition to offer, with reverence, something of value, to one’s ‘Guru’ or ‘Teacher’ or towards his/her cause in recognition of the invaluable knowledge imparted to the student. Spiritual knowledge offered by the Chinmaya Mission will always remain free.
